Wyoming Area posted four more wins in seven days, allowing just one goal in the process, to improve its overall field hockey record to 9-0.

The Lady Warriors are the only team with an unbeaten record within the Wyoming Valley Conference and the current leaders of the race for the top seed in the District 2 Class A playoffs.

Wyoming Area is the defending champion and leader of Division 1 of the WVC.

The Lady Warriors, who already shut out Wyoming Seminary in a WVC game, repeated it by an even larger margin in Friday’s non-league matchup on the turf at Klassner Field in Kingston.

Lyla Rehill and Ella McKernan led the way with three goals apiece for Wyoming Area. Lucia Campenni, Juliana Gonzales and Claudia Rehill also scored.

Pittston Area 4, Wallenpaupack 1

Pittston Area regained sole possession of the WVC Division 2 lead Thursday with a road win over one of the three teams that entered the day sharing first place.

The Lady Patriots improved to 7-1, one-half game ahead of Dallas (6-1) in the division, and 7-4 overall.

Maddie Karp scored three of the goals and assisted on the other.

Julia Homschek also scored. Guiliana Latona had an assist.

Wyoming Area 6, Abington Heights 0

Lyla Rehill scored a hat trick and the Wyoming Area defense held Abington Heights without a shot on goal Wednesday in a WVC Division 1 game that was a matchup of last year’s division champions.

The Comets, who won Division 2 last season, had just one penalty corner.

Jules Gonzales scored twice and Ella McKernan once. Lucia Campenni and Claudia Rehill had assists.

Pittston Area 6, Tunkhannock 3

Pittston Area returned to its winning way with the WVC Division 2 victory at Tunkhannock Tuesday.

The Lady Patriots had lost their previous two games, including suffering their first division loss to give up sole possession of first place.

Wyoming Area 2, Wyoming Valley West 1

Ella Campenni and Jules Gonzales scored first-half goals Monday as Wyoming Area beat one of the top challengers to its WVC Division 1 supremacy.

Ainsley Flynn added an assist.

Ava Mullery scored in the fourth quarter for Wyoming Valley West.

Rylee Muniz made five saves to help hand the Lady Spartans just their second loss of the season.

Ella McKernan scored in overtime to lift Wyoming Area to the Sept. 14 win in Syracuse, N.Y.
